We're getting married!

In June 2024, Mike was a 2nd year electrical apprentice at Bear Electric. His work buddy, Josh and now wife, Kahleia, became friends with Mike. As Kahleia got to know Mike, she wanted to play matchmaker for him; Mike grudgingly agreed. After a few attempts, Mike was introduced to Emily. Emily went to college with Kahleia. They ran on the same cross country team, were both in nursing school, and worked together as nursing assistants. Knowing Kahleia had successfully matched couples in the past, Emily took her advice that she should meet Mike. June 10, 2024, Mike and Emily go on their first date to Bullwinkle’s. Mike immediately impressed Emily by being kind, a gentlemen, and funny. Mike thought Emily was easy to be around, made him laugh, and was beautiful. Emily even jokingly guessed both of his middle names on the first try! Safe to say, the date went well, and they continued to see each other. July 2, 2024, Mike asks Emily to be his girlfriend under the fireworks at the St. Paul Rodeo in St. Paul, Oregon. Kahleia's meddling in Mike's love life was a success! The next 11 months were amazing! They quickly fell in love and met their families and friends. Everyone in their life agreed that they were a great match. Mike and Emily enjoyed every minute they were together!! June 28, 2025, Mike plans an "anniversary photo shoot" for Emily. Emily had her suspicions of a possible proposal, but she completely talked herself out of the idea. She thought for sure Mike would be stressed the day he would propose. Of course, Mike was same chill, nonchalant self he always is. They start the photos and about 30 minutes into the shoot, Mike proposes. Emily is so shocked and excited! Later, Mike reveals their friends and family are waiting for them at home for a surprise engagement party! This couldn't have been a more blessed day, and a beautiful start to the rest of their lives together. During the next year of their engagement, Emily will graduate from George Fox University with a bachelor's of science in nursing, take the licensing exam to become a registered nurse, and hopefully find her first nursing job! Mike will finish his 3rd year of electrical apprenticeship, and enter into his 4th and final year!
