Colombia uses the Colombian peso or COP. The exchange rate is around 4000 COP for every 1 US dollar. USD goes far in Colombia so be sure to pay in COP while in the country. You may want to exchange some USD for COP to pay for small things while in Colombia but most ubers, restaurants, and shops take credit cards as well. You may want to inform your bank that you are travelling internationally so all charges go through.
