Chantel and Brian met while studying for their upcoming finals while volunteering at a soup kitchen downtown, just kidding! The two actually met on a bus that takes beer connoisseurs around different breweries in North Park, San Diego. It was close to Christmas time so naturally Chantel had one of those elf ear hats on. She was sitting with her friends on one side of the bus, while Brian was with his friend on the other. Brian knew there was only one move, so he made it. Dancing to Backstreet Boys "Everybody" in the middle of the bus Chantel couldn't believe how incredibly handsome and smooth he was. It was at this moment unstoppable forces were set in motion that bring us to today.

Brian and Chantel packed up the car and headed east to hike Viejas Mountain on a beautiful San Diego Sunday. They had performed this ritual many times in the past, but today Brian carried a small wooden box with a tiny gold ring in his pack that would change both their lives forever. Upon reaching the wind swept summit Brian asked Chantel to set up the camera so they could take a picture. However, at that very moment another couple of hikers reached the top and spoiled the scene. The moment lost and the wind pulling at their clothes, Chantel and Brian headed down to find a sheltered location to have lunch. After a quick lunch, Brian again asked Chantel to set up the camera to take a picture. However, this time when Chantel took her pose Brian fell to one knee and asked her to marry him. She said yes!
