Like most modern love stories, ours began...with Brandon's mom, Lisa. On a random summer day at Hampton Beach, Lisa was doing what she does best - making friends everywhere she goes. She struck up a conversation with a group of girls who happened to be from the same town that she raised Brandon in. Naturally, Lisa asked the very normal, subtle question: "Do you know my son Brandon?" Lisa would then go on to deliver a full sales pitch on Brandon. A day later, Lisa casually asked Brandon if he knew a girl named Chantel Soucy. He didn't, but like any rational adult in 2026, he immediately conducted a very thorough Instagram investigation. He liked what he saw and then did what any smooth gentleman would do - he slid into Chantel's DMs with the following: "I heard you met my mother and she was talking me up...how did she do?" Bold. Risky. Some would say slightly second hand embarrassing. Luckily, Chantel responded unlike when they both matched on Bumble weeks before (Chantel didn't message Brandon and the match expired). Messages turned into laughs, laughs turned into a first date that came with Chantel's friends following her location to make sure Brandon wasn't taking Chantel, and that first date turned into forever. So technically, we owe it all to a sunny beach day, a proud mom, and one very successful DM. The rest is history.
