It’s Miller Time

A story of how two met in cyberspace. Dave had some friends that felt that he needed to give online dating a try. After some convincing they set up a profile for him. Meanwhile an hour away one of Chantal’s best friends had decided that she should also have a profile set up so she created her one in hopes that she would find someone just as she had met her husband. Then came covid. Although no one was really going anywhere Chantal had decided to give the dating website one more chance. Much to her surprise she had a message from this handsome man named Dave and she was hooked. For the next two months the two messaged everyday until they finally had their first meeting/date. From there the rest was history.

The couple had been planning a trip to go to Indy with Dave’s family and figured that since they would be staying at their house prior to the trip that it would be a great time for their families to meet. Little did Chantal know that Dave had even more in store. The couple spent that week packing and getting ready for the trip. The day the Millers were coming to town Dave convinced Chantal to go get her nails done while he cleaned the car and got it ready for the trip. After she was done she met him at a local restaurant for a drink and to plan out the rest of their day. From there he recommended that they go to Vander Veer Park, one of their favorite spots, to check out a “plant sale”. They get to the park and he takes her for a walk by the water so that she can see the ducks and walks her up to the botanical garden. Inside there is a row of heart shape balloons and tea light candles. As he is talking to her she is completely unaware of what is happening, that is until she sees her 6’2 younger brother in a bright blue shirt trying to hide in the corner. As she is starting to put two and two together Dave gets on one knee and pops the question. Much to her surprise she finds that one of her best friends of over 20 years (the one that put her on the dating site) was the photographer and her family were hiding in the greenery. With Dave’s family on the way, the two families were able to celebrate together making it the perfect day.

The couple has decided to elope in Greece fall of 2023. Although they would absolutely love to be surrounded by family and friends on this special day they have decided that they want to experience somewhere new together. Dave has never been out of the country before and Greece has always been a bucket list location for Chantal. After much consideration they thought the two factors would make it the perfect place. The couple does promise that there will be a million photos and videos shared on this page. There will also be a reception to follow when they return in Sioux City Iowa.

What would a wedding be without a celebration? The couple will have a small celebration at the Oscar Carl Vineyard in Sioux City Iowa. Rain or shine the celebration will be held at the vineyard!
