We’re getting married!

In September of 2019, Justin was performing at the Loony Bin Comedy Club in Oklahoma City (RIP) from Wednesday, September 4th to Saturday, September 7th. That Wednesday, Chanoa’s friends Bailee and Andrea planned to welcome Chanoa back home from her eight-month long excursion to Vietnam and Thailand. Chanoa was trying to figure out what to do for their girls’ night when fate intervened. That day, she won free tickets to the comedy club through a local radio station. Wanting to experience her first comedy show, Chanoa convinced her friends to go to the comedy club after they pre-gamed at Ted’s. When Justin hit the stage, Chanoa was mesmerized. By his pale white skin. And the pelvic thrusts that he busted out, for some reason, on stage that night. Unfortunately, Chanoa was too mesmerized to listen to his punchlines. At that time, Bailee and Andrea wanted to live vicariously through Chanoa, so they hoped to set up their girl with the funny man who was in town for a few days from Las Vegas. On a napkin, they wrote, “Hey! You should stop eating magnets…you’re making me so attracted to you! :) Look me up on Facebook. Chanoa Garza.” Then, they gave the napkin to a waitress to give to Justin after he got off stage. When the waitress handed Justin the napkin, she pointed to a table and said that the note came from the women sitting at the table. At first, Justin thought the waitress pointed to the table behind where Chanoa was sitting. A group of elderly ladies were at that table, and Justin was flattered that he had such appeal with the seniors. Then, he spotted a giggling Bailee and Andrea, and a mortified Chanoa. When the audience members left the showroom, Chanoa ran past him. But she stopped running after approximately ten feet. Justin, never one to shy away from a woman who he thought was interested in him, walked up to her and initiated conversation. Eventually, Bailee and Andrea invited Justin to hang out with them and Chanoa. Justin, down for an adventure with the attractive and adorably awkward Chanoa, got into Bailee’s SUV, climbed over a couple of car seats, and buckled in, unaware that he was about to embark on the adventure of a lifetime. That adventure started with Bailee making a pit stop for diapers. Then, they headed to a karaoke bar, where Bailee and Andrea made Justin serenade Chanoa to what ended up being a very awkward and pitchy version of “Pretty Woman.” Chanoa and Justin hung out all that night and the next few days while Justin was in town entertaining the Okies. That Sunday, Chanoa dropped Justin off at the airport. She thought her romantic fling was over, but Justin knew better. After only a matter of weeks, Justin told Chanoa that he cleaned out half of his closet in his one-bedroom apartment for her. Chanoa, always down for an impulsive decision, officially moved in with Justin in Las Vegas in January of 2020. Little did Chanoa know, she would soon get to know Justin a whole lot better because they would be locked down together during the infamous quarantine times of the pandemic. Five years and countless fun times later, Justin popped the question. All their friends and family were elated. And everyone Justin told about his recent engagement seemed to tell him, “about time!” Now, they’re ready to write the next chapter of their bizarre love story, and they look forward to celebrating with the folks who’ve supported them along the way.
