Things To Do

We hope that you explore all that Flagstaff has to offer while you're here: food, drink, culture, history, and amazing outdoor opportunities. We absolutely love our home, and can't wait to share it with you. The Southwest is an incredible diverse region. If you are able to plan a longer trip, we recommend visiting Sedona and the Grand Canyon as well as Flagstaff, with 1-2 days in each place. If you want even more of the Southwest, Zion, Bryce Canyon, Canyonlands, and Arches National Parks, Moab UT and Telluride CO are all within a day's drive. Here are some of our favorite local restaurants, attractions, and places to explore.
Shift Kitchen & Bar

This is absolutely our favorite restaurant in town. Feel free to stop in throughout the weekend for amazing cocktails and appetizers, homemade artisan bread and pasta, unique seasonal dishes, and desserts that are culinary works of art.

Tourist Home All Day Cafe

Firecreek Coffee Company

Another classic Flagstaff coffee shop with fresh beans that are roasted locally.

Rendezvous

Rendezvous

100 North San Francisco Street, Flagstaff, AZ 86001
, (928) 779-6971

This is where it all began. Grab a drink at one of Flagstaff's favorite downtown cocktail bars, on the first floor of the historic Hotel Monte Vista. In the mornings, stop by for a coffee and some people watching. This will also quite possibly be the location of the Pre-Party Party After-Party on Friday evening.

Hops On Birch

Hops On Birch

22 East Birch Avenue, Flagstaff, AZ 86001
, (928) 440-5380

Get your craft beer fix. Dog friendly and with dozens of regional craft beers on tap, it's easy for Flagstaff locals to love Hops on Birch.

Criollo Latin Kitchen

Mother Road Brewing Company

Mother Road Brewing Company

7 South Mikes Pike Street, Flagstaff, AZ 86001
, (928) 774-9139

Our favorite of the many local breweries in town (although you can't go wrong with most of them).

Bright Side Bookshop

Want to try mountain biking while you're here? Flagstaff and Sedona are world-renowned mountain bike destinations. Rent a bike from Flag Bike Rev, our favorite local bike shop. They'll get you set up proper and can help with trail recommendations.

Museum of Northern Arizona

, (928) 774-5213

Take in Northern Arizona's history and culture at our local but renowned museum.

The Grand Canyon

The Grand Canyon

South Entrance Road, Grand Canyon Village, AZ 86023
, (928) 638-7888

You've heard of it, right? You've gotta check out the Grand Canyon while you're here. The South Rim is just over an hour away, and we recommend pack a lunch to make a day trip out of it. Some trail recommendations: Easy: You can walk for miles along the Rim Trail. It is accessible and paved. Moderate / Challenging: Truly experience the Canyon by dropping below the rim. We prefer either South Kaibab or Grandview Trails as they are slightly less crowded than Bright Angel Trail. Plan for about double the amount of time to climb back up as it does to descend. Be prepared, start early before it gets hot, bring plenty of water, and don't overestimate your fitness level on the way down.

Grand Canyon North Rim

Grand Canyon North Rim

Arizona 67, North Rim, AZ 86052
, (877) 386-4383

If you have a few extra days and want a Grand Canyon experience with fewer crowds and more remote wilderness, the North Rim is for you. It's about a 4 hour drive from Flagstaff. Expect to get off the grid, have cooler weather, and get a more rugged feel.

Arizona Snowbowl

Arizona Snowbowl

9300 North Snow Bowl Road, Flagstaff, AZ 86001
, (928) 779-1951

Arizona's premeire ski destination (yes, you can ski in Arizona!). You can take the chair lift to the summit for amazing views, with the Grand Canyon visible on a clear day. Several great hikes leave from the Snowbowl parking lot, and the fall leaves should be in full color at the end of September: -Easy hike: The Arizona Trail - in a few miles, you'll cross through high mountain meadows and Aspen groves. -Moderate hike: Kachina trail - similar scenery as the Arizona trail, but a bit more technical -Challenging Hike: Humphrey's trail - Approximately 5.5 miles to the top of Humphrey's Mountain (11 roundtrip) Arizona's highest peak. Hiking to the saddle between Humphrey's and Agassiz Mountain is a few miles shorter and still a worthy outing.

Cathedral Rock Hike

Cathedral Rock Hike

500 Back O Beyond Road, Sedona, AZ 86336

A short, accessible and classic Sedona hike, with many nearby trails that you can link into a longer outing.

Mescal Mountain Trail

Mescal Mountain Trail

Another great hike in Sedona than can be a short out-and-back or about a 4 mile loop

Page Springs Cellars

Page Springs Cellars

1500 North Page Springs Road, Cornville, AZ 86325
, (928) 639-3004

Taste local Arizona wines at a picturesque vineyard oasis along Oak Creek. There are also great birding opportunities along Page Springs road.
