Just up the road from Laga Beach is Laida Beach, a truly unique spot where the tide shifts dramatically throughout the day. At low tide, you can walk far out across the sand into what feels like the middle of the ocean. Be sure to keep an eye on the time, as the tide comes in quickly and it’s important to make your way back to shore before it rises. This beach has kids friendly swimming and a few restaurants on site.
Bosque de Oma is a magical painted forest in the Urdaibai area, where trees become part of a living artwork created by artist Agustín Ibarrola. As you walk through the woodland, the painted patterns reveal different shapes and perspectives depending on where you stand. It’s a unique blend of nature and art, perfect for a peaceful walk and a bit of discovery. There is about a 2 mile walk to get to the paintings it is a fun activity for the whole family! *Remember to bring water!
