Welcome Reception

We invite both out of town and local guests to join us at the Overlook for a welcome reception Friday evening. Cocktails, beer and wine will be provided, as well as light snacks and desserts. Located on the second floor of the Residence Inn Raleigh Downtown, the Overlook offers ample indoor and outdoor space so guests can feel comfortable to meet, mingle, and enjoy the evening!
Masks are required for all guests. Please wear your masks while indoors, unless actively eating or drinking. There are multiple hand sanitizing stations provided by the hotel. Let's share air hugs and elbow bumps, because #pandemicparty!

Our ceremony

The attire for our wedding is semi-formal: suits and cocktail dresses are welcome. Any excuse to get dressed up, am I right?
Guests are asked to enter from White Oak Road and proceed to the visitor parking area in front of the main school entrance. Please look for a sign in front of the school leading to the Chapel and follow the sidewalk inside; the Chapel entrance will be immediately ahead. For our guests who may have difficulty navigating stairs, there is an elevator available for entry into the Chapel.
Reception

We will be on the 9th floor terrace of The Dillon, so bring a wrap or coat for the breeze! We will be tenting a large portion of the terrace and providing heaters and blankets to make sure our guests are comfortable.
While our reception will look a little different than we hoped, celebrate we will! Plan on a sunset cocktail hour, a leisurely plated dinner, and an open mic. As we are not having a traditional rehearsal dinner, the reception will be the time for toasts, embarrassing stories (keep it clean, folks) and any and all words of encouragement. Evening inspiration: a leisurely European dinner under the stars where no one is in a rush and everyone's glass is full! We will be dancing, but in a socially-distanced-kind-of-way that we haven't quite solidified yet. Stay tuned!
