We met in the hills of Trujillo, Honduras—two paths crossing by the grace of God. Each of us had set out on separate missions to serve different communities, never imagining how profoundly our lives were about to change. Chase arrived in Honduras with the Mountain Medics team, while I was traveling with a group from Notre Dame to join the community at La Finca de los Niños. When the medical team needed interpreters, many of us from Notre Dame—being bilingual—stepped in to help. Working side by side, we witnessed one another’s hearts in action. I saw Chase’s quiet strength and humility as he cared for the people around him, always seeking to honor Christ in all he did. And I was lucky to witness Chanelly’s beautiful heart for service shine through in everything she did, from caring for patients to uplifting both our teams with her unique light and humor in every situation. From that trip on, we were inseparable. Since the day we met, we’ve spoken every single day. We’ve crossed oceans and traveled more than 15,000 miles to be together through the distance. From long-distance FaceTimes to global adventures, we’ve grown into a love we never expected but now couldn’t imagine living without. Our story is full of surprises, but nothing could have prepared us for the joy of finding one another. We are endlessly grateful for the journey that brought us here—and for the God who’s guided every step. We're excited to have each of our loved ones who made us who we are today, so thank you for taking time out of your busy life to celebrate with us!
