How We Met: Chanelle Version

October 17th, 2020

Rich Auntie life has been cancelled… In the summer of 2020, I attended a good friend’s birthday dinner. The hostess required each guest to bring his or her favorite wine and to dress in a very SPECIFIC dress code. Due to COVID-19, it was a really intimate group. I knew almost everyone there. Almost. Story of his life: As the night goes along guess who walks in LATE? Ricardo aka Clu and/or Timbo (depending on who you ask). I remember turning around and seeing him in a snapback and this blue and white pullover and thinking “Who is this? Immediately followed by “He’s definitely not in dress code.” But also…”He is kinda cute!” He flirted with me all night and I guess he asked my friend for my instagram page. He sent me a direct message on instagram. It was a snowman and I was so lost. I thought to myself, “Is this some Quavo and Saweetie stuff?” Deciding to just go with it, I responded back with a fire sign (shrugs). I don’t know yall. He sent me his number and my response was, “So what do you want me to do with that”. I told him that isn’t how you ask me for my number. He laughed, but I was serious. I wasn’t calling him. Okay. I ended up calling him the next day. We started dating. We had the tough conversations up front but naturally, and freely. I had resolved in my mind that I would be content as the rich auntie. I thought to myself this is too perfect and it's really happening so fast. I honestly was waiting for something to go wrong. Everyday we grow stronger as a unit. Rich auntie found an uncle lol. He is my Happily Ever After.

How We Met: Clu Version

October 17th, 2020

Once upon a hot boy summer: In the summer of 2020, my brother Timbo and I attended our homie Sil's birthday gathering at her crib. If anyone knows Sil, you know there was a theme and dress code for this event. If anyone knows me, well, you know I wasn't following the dress code (shrugs), but I did bring the required wine that was a part of the theme. So, of course, Timbo and I were late (we're known for this). Let's call it "being fashionably late." We pulled up and proceeded to enter the house. I saw this lady standing by the back door, about to exit outside. Immediately my eyes widened, and my spider senses started tingling. Chanelle wore a white button long sleeve shirt, dark blue jeans with some heels, a brownish fedora hat, and had these lovely faux locs going on. I said to myself, “Yea, I have to get her,” so, of course, I made my way outside. I started to say hello to everyone, and (this part is where I set the trap) she introduced herself to me, and at that moment, "she didn't know she fucked/lucked up," lol. As the night went by, I made sure I intentionally flirted with her, you know, set some alleys up and wait for a slam dunk. Timbo and Sil were the ones I made sure to ask and find out who she was. I even found her Instagram page (yea, I was a creep). I scrolled down to her first pic, lol, then scrolled back up and saw a "Barbados" flag in her profile. I knew God was sending me a sign, or maybe I was just tipsy. Either way I had to “Kobe” this moment. By this time, we're around 20 plus bottles of wine in, music is flowing, and everyone is practically feeling good. I said to myself, let me pull a Quavo and slide the snowman into the DM's. She replied with the "fire" emoji, and I hit her with the phone number. She said some craziness like, "What am I supposed to do with that" and I said, "use it or lose it" lol, no, I'm joking. We ended up going out later that night with a group of friends. I got wasted, threw up, and the night was a blur. The next day, I was like, "yea, I blew that opportunity with her," but to my surprise, she hit me up. And at that moment, our fairy tale happily ever after life's journey began. I never thought our life would have gotten here. I had my scary moments only because of the fast pace it was going, but, by the blessings of God, I ended up finding my soulmate, best friend, travel buddy, date night partner, business partner, fiancée, and soon-to-be WIFE.
