Chase and I met our freshman year of high school at Christian Life Academy. We knew each other but weren’t really in the same circles the first two years of school. At the start of our junior year, I joined the cheerleading squad, so we saw a lot more of each other since Chase was the center on the football team. Still, we didn’t interact much beyond Chase getting stuck behind my car constantly on the way to school and making fun of my driving in the parking lot.
Chase tried to slide into my DMs on Snapchat for several months in 2021, and I kept ignoring him. Finally one night after an LSU football game (and too many daiquiris), I answered. We talked all night.
We finally went on our first date - a drive around town in Chase’s truck and a stop for hot chocolate at Coffee Call. Chase would like to point out that I technically asked him out. I would like to point out that he was taking too long. Anyway, we had a great time and drove around talking for hours.
Chase asked me to be his girlfriend on Christmas Eve in 2021 after meeting his family earlier that evening. We spent the next three years enjoying our time dating, going on many adventures. At first, I was living in Lafayette for graduate school, so we were semi-long-distance for a while. Ask Chase about the time he made me drive across the Atchafalaya 3 times in one day! I moved back to BR in 2022, and thank goodness our long-distance days were over!
In early December of 2024, I was getting suspicious that Chase might propose at his white elephant Christmas party. I knew that he had asked my parents and nana for my hand back in April, and I knew that he wanted the proposal to be around Christmas time. But Chase had everyone around me throw me off, even my mom! I have to admit I was not in the best mood when the party began because I fell for it. But then I saw a Hello Kitty box during the gift exchange. I was given the Queen of Hearts card that was early in the game to pick a present. Of course I went for the Hello Kitty box, like he knew I would. It was filled with Hello Kitty gifts and a note at the bottom saying, “This present is temporary. Turn around for forever.” I turned around, and there he was with the most beautiful ring. I of course said yes very enthusiastically, and here we are! We are so looking forward to December 19, 2025 and cannot wait to celebrate with all of you!
