The wedding will be held at Slate & Cypress, 802 Hickman Rd NW, Calabash, NC 28467; 910-363-6402. The venue is a private estate on over five acres of serene country land, that integrates a beautiful winery-inspired Venue Hall, restored 100+ years Old Heritage Tobacco House Bar & Dining Patio, Curated Tuscan Courtyard Garden with smokeless firepits and bistro lighting, enchanting fruit orchard with water fountain, scenic pond, open green fields that have been meticulously landscaped. Ample on-site parking, including parking attendant and golf cart shuttle. The wedding will have exclusive use to the estate on the day of the wedding, with the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception all in one place. So please feel free to enjoy the full venue with us.
The ceremony will start at 5p, please feel free to be in place at 4:30p. We will celebrate until 9:30p.
We would love to celebrate with everyone, but due to COVID-19 social distancing practices and our budget the guest list has been strict to invitation only with a preselected reserved seat number to each household invited. Any changes to reserved seat number must be approved prior to wedding.
The wedding is formal attire. Please no to the following clothing items: jeans, crop tops, sneakers, flip flops (shower shoes), offensive language/images on shirts, or extreme revealing dresses. Sundresses, linen shorts, and polo shirts are acceptable if a suit is not your style. Due to venue dress code restriction policy, we ask all guests to obey the dress attire requirements, as we would hate to turn you away at the door.
Yes, children are allowed and may have been included in the preselected reserved seat number. If they weren’t added just call to have your number adjusted to include them. Please be mindful if you bring your children, they will need to be supervised by you at the event as there will not be any babysitters on site at the venue.
No, there's not a full open bar. However, there is a limited open bar that will serve: water, lemonade, sweet tea, beer, wine, sparkling non alcoholic wine, and 3 signature drinks (bride, groom, and couple mixed cocktail).
No transportation will not be provided. There is plenty of parking at the venue to accommodate guest with a golf cart shuttle from parking lot. The venue is 18.7 miles from the host hotel roughly 23 minutes.
Yes. Cocktail hour will have appetizers. Reception will have a sit down meal with chicken, beef, and veggie option. Please note on RSVP meal preferences of each person attending.

The weather is still pretty warm in September. This is a late afternoon wedding so the sun won’t be at it’s peak time of blazing, but sunscreen would be suggested and a possible jacket in the event it gets cool.
The ceremony is set to be outside in the garden, and reception will be indoors. *In the event of rain, the ceremony will be moved indoors.*
Yes the bride and groom will be at the host hotel Friday evening. Please check the schedule tab and join in for the meet & greet, dinner at the host hotel, fun time spent and lunch at Broadway at the Beach, dinner out in town, and breakfast before the wedding.
You will be missed! If you cannot make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP “no,” so we can plan accordingly. There will be a virtual option for those that won’t be face to face but still wish to celebrate with us from a far.
There is no hotel guest blocking of booking, solely to allow guest to choose other hotel options in the area that is suitable to their personal needs. The host hotel is Hilton Myrtle Beach Resort located at 10000 Beach Club Drive, Myrtle Beach, SC 29572. There are numerous hotel options near the host hotel and we encourage guest to choose a hotel and join us for any activities they would like to partake in before the wedding.
Yes the full venue is wheelchair accessible.
Yes, we encourage guests to post pictures on to their social media channels, but we have two requests: 1. That you don’t record or “go live” on any social media platforms during our ceremony, as we have a videographer that has been paid to capture that moment. 2. When you take pictures, please tag each photo with our wedding hashtag #LoveNeverFeltSoSmith, so we can keep track of all of your pictures!”
Temperature checks will be done prior to entry into the venue. We will have masks that will be provided to all guests. The venue will have several stations for hand sanitizing available and chairs will be distanced for each aspect of the day. We would like for everyone to have a COVID-19 test completed at least 72 hours before traveling to venue. Those that have showed proof of testing will receive a wristband that will indicate they've been tested and have negative results, making mask wearing optional. *We ask that anyone feeling sick to stay at home and view the ceremony virtually to keep everyone safe.
