Of course! Though Western formal and semi-formal attire is completely appropriate, all are welcome to wear Indian clothing if you'd like. See below for a beginner's guide, and feel free to reach out directly — we'd love to help you find something! More detailed dress codes will be shared with invitations.
For the ladies: - Salwar Kameez — a tunic (kameez) with matching pants (salwar) and a scarf (dupatta). The most beginner-friendly option: elegant, comfortable, and easy to move in. - Chaniya Choli — a flared circle skirt with a cropped blouse and dupatta. Traditional Garba attire and absolutely stunning. Very easy to wear and fun to dance in. - Lehenga — an embroidered full skirt with a blouse and dupatta. Perfect for the Ceremony or Reception. - Saree — beautiful and iconic, but requires a bit of practice or help to drape. Some sarees come pre-draped. For the gents: - Kurta with pants — a long tunic over straight-leg trousers. Easy, comfortable, and sharp. Great for the Mehndi or Garba. - Nehru jacket over kurta — a mandarin-collar jacket layered over a kurta. A polished middle ground between casual and formal. - Sherwani — the Indian equivalent of a tuxedo. A long, formal coat-style garment, usually richly embroidered, paired with fitted trousers (churidar). Ideal for the Ceremony or Reception. All of these look great with dress shoes. Traditional mojri (embroidered slip-on shoes) are also a nice touch. Good places to shop: Amrut.co, Lashkaraa, Aza Collection, Maanyavar, Pernia's Pop-Up Shop (all online) or an Indian boutique near you. Please also avoid red at the Ceremony, as it's traditionally reserved for the bride. Otherwise, lean into color — the brighter and more colorful, the better.
You will not go hungry at an Indian wedding! Every event will have food, and the menus will cover Indian and American options.
Falls Park on the Reedy A stunning waterfall and park right in the heart of downtown. The Liberty Bridge is one of the most photographed spots in the state. Perfect for a morning walk or a sunset stroll. Main Street The Hyatt sits right on Main Street, which is lined with restaurants, boutiques, coffee shops, and bars. Walk in any direction and you'll find something worth stopping for. On weekends there's often live music or outdoor events. The Swamp Rabbit Trail A 22-mile rail trail connecting Greenville to Travelers Rest through forests and along the Reedy River. Great for walking, running, or cycling.
We will include the registry link on this website in the coming months. That said, please know that your presence truly means the most to us. If you'd like to give a gift, we're also honored to follow Indian tradition, where cash gifts are the custom.
