We met one another through mutual friends from Ohio University and Centerville High School in 2014. We always hung out at Nick's house in Columbus, Ohio and he was always so welcoming to everyone. We became really good friends over two years by going to happy hours together, multiple skyline visits, and quite a bit of dinners with all of our friends. Nick later asked me in March of 2016 to go grab a few drinks for happy hour at Woodlands Backyard. I didn't think twice about this outing as we had been friends for two years and counting. As the happy hour went on, we talked about each others relationship status, again didn't think twice of this conversation, and he insisted on picking up the tab! When I got home that evening, I remember asking my roommate about the outing and we both starting putting the conversations together and thought maybe there was a chance with US! We continued to talk, he attended my birthday trip to Gatlinburg where we were always flirting, he then went to the Masters Tournament with his dad and brought me back the best shirt. As my cousins would say my entire trip to Savannah, GA was me FaceTiming Nick because I knew it was something real. Couple of weeks had gone by and we joined our volleyball league (this was our second season together) as we finished up a game on May 19. 2016 we had another drink at Woodlands Backyard where Nick asked me to be his girlfriend!
After an extremely stressful week for the both of us and preparing to host 21 of our closest friends at our house for Friendsgiving 2019, Nick still managed to give me the engagement of my dreams. Nick texted me on Thursday and asked if we could go to Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens on Saturday before all of our friends came over. Stressed as all get out, I could tell he really wanted to go so I agreed! We went to Local Cantina, our favorite taco joint in Columbus and had a couple of tacos together. We then made the next stop at FPCBG! As we were walking around checking out all of the art and the plants we were laughing and having a great time! We went to the John F. Wolfe Palm House where Nick asked me to go outside with him. I notice someone was out there and we walked out where Nick told me how much he loved me and couldn't wait to spend forever with me and took a knee. Happy tears started rolling from my eyes and pictures were being taken from the person outside, who turned out to be, Paige (Nick's twin sister)!! Best moment of our lives! We proceeded to take additional photos together, visited Woodlands Backyard for a cocktail, where it all began! We then left and went home where we were greeted with all of our family & a couple of close friends! It was such a great surprise for me! As friends started to show up for Friendsgiving we were able to share the news with our closest friends and celebrate all together!
