We ran in the same circles for all of college (even lived in the same dorm freshman year), yet somehow barely knew each other going into our senior year at TCU. Turns out we both signed up for the same honors colloquia, a class called Callings. After sitting next to each for a few classes, Chandler asked Logan to Theta Formal. We had such a blast at formal and chatting over margs (our mutual beverage of choice) at a TCU tailgates, that Logan was left with no choice but to ask Chandler out on a date...
Although the date had been planned for at least two weeks, Logan didn't tell Chandler what they were actually doing until a few days before. It was then that Chandler found out that they would be going to none other than the Texas State Fair. Too eager to wait for our Saturday night date, Logan asked Chandler to get Chipotle and watch the sunset the Friday night before - Date 1A as we like to call it. We had a great time and it only added to the anticipation of Date 1B the following night. On Saturday afternoon, Logan picked up Chandler, who was sporting a sundress and cowgirl boots like the true attempting Texan she was. We tore it up at the state fair where there was no shortage of corndogs, fried oreos, and fried cookie dough. The conversation was incredible, we got free tickets from a passerby, and the fair was concluded by fireworks over the water - all aspects that contributed to the magic of the night. After the fair, we stopped by a friend's birthday party, then headed to Logan's house to share a bottle of wine and share stories of trips abroad. We both walked away from the night not only convinced that there would be a second date but that there may even be a lifetime of dates to come...
All Chandler knew was that she was going on a surprise date with Logan. Logan asked her to wear a dress and heels, and when she got in the car he told her that they were going on a scavenger hunt. The first stop was Logan's house where Chandler was led inside and upstairs to the rooftop. When they reached the roof, all of the patio furniture was gone, although mildly suspicious, Chandler thought that maybe it was for some sort of activity that went with the scavenger hunt. Logan then presented a blue journal that was filled with all our milestones and favorite stories from the past two years. When Logan got to that days date, August 27th, a perfect 2 years later from our first day of class together, there was a blank page. Logan then proceeded to say that there "was just one last milestone to finish out this season of our lives," and Chandler, then starting to connect all the dots said, "Oh my gosh is this about to happen?!". And you know what came next, Logan down on a knee and a very quick "Yes, Yes, Yes!" by Chandler. We were then joined by the awesome Zac Fox and Johnny Douglas who helped document our special moment. Then, as if it wasn't perfect already, we went downstairs to find our family and Baltimore friends ready to celebrate! Logan had ordered Chipotle (our first meal together), and cupcakes (Chandler's favorite). It truly was the most special day....yet;)
