The story of Jon and Chandler started in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 2015. Jon and Chandler started dating after meeting at UW Milwaukee. Shortly after they started dating, Chandler asked Jon to go pet shopping with her and they came home with a cat, Stella. Conveniently, Jon accepted a job in Chicago after graduation and Chandler started graduate school in the greater Chicago area. Jon and Chandler continued dating and frequently drove to visit each other around the Chicago area. When the Chicago traffic became a little too inconvenient they moved in together in the West Loop of Chicago. They enjoyed the walkability of the city, fun restaurants, and all that Chicago had to offer. Jon and Chandler share a love of traveling and visiting national parks. Jon convinced Chandler that camping "wouldn't be that bad," so she gave her first tent camping trip a go. Little did Chandler know, tent camping isn't that bad when Jon inflates a queen size air mattress for the tent. Together they look forward to taking a national park trip every summer. They hope to expand their international travel footprint by taking an extended trip to Europe for their honeymoon! Together they decided to move back to Milwaukee. Chandler ironically accepted a job in the school district that Jon graduated from in New Berlin. Many of the teachers and principals still remember Jon. Furthermore, Jon pursued his passion for real estate and purchased a duplex outside the city of Milwaukee. Jon renovated the upper and lower units of the duplex with the help of family and friends. Chandler only mildly complained during the renovations but is extremely proud of Jon's efforts; however, she mostly enjoyed selecting colors, paint, furniture, and appliances. They now live together in this charming home. Chandler began to wonder if a proposal would happen in the coming years. She knew that Jon might be more serious about a proposal when his standard response to family and friends asking, "When are you going to propose?" changed from his usual "Things are going well, and if they continue this way I could see it happening in the near future" to "I could see it happening within the next year." Chandler began subtly sharing rings that she loved. Jon hinted to Chandler that a proposal would most likely happen by their seven-year anniversary. So, in true Jon fashion, he proposed on a wintery night in downtown Milwaukee on December 9th, 2022 - one day before their seven-year anniversary. Jon surprised Chandler with a private dining experience and champagne at Hotel Metro a Boutique Hotel in Milwaukee where he got on one knee and proposed. Chandler was over the moon that the day she had waited for had finally come. Chandler and Jon celebrated with friends and family that weekend - party bus with friends, brewery tour, dinners, and happy hours! Jon and Chandler are thankful for the friends and family who have shaped their relationship along the way. They are excited to celebrate their love with you on June 22, 2024, in downtown Milwaukee - the city where it all began!
