Our story began in the throes of the 2020 COVID global pandemic, and like many of our friends, we met through a dating app. Maybe not the most romantic beginning, but you’re here now reading this, aren’t you? Little did we know that swiping right during those turbulent times would lead to the person each of us wanted to spend forever with. After weeks of only communicating digitally, and once things began to open back up, we decided to meet in person. We had our first lunch date at Stone Creek, preceded by perusing through a Half Price Books Store. Our first dinner date took place on the sidewalk outside of one our favorites restaurants, Pepp & Delores. Soon after, we began introducing each other to our friends and family. Some of our favorite early memories together took place at 1407 Main Street (Chandler’s OTR apartment) where our separate circles merged into one, and the foundation of our relationship began. Fortunately, we both passed the friends and family tests easily. The final stamp of approval, however, came from a much pickier judge. Chandler’s beloved cat, Cincy. After four years of it being just the two of them (plus a few roommates), Cincy found another person in his space. It took about three years for Cincy to warm up, but eventually he loved Ben just as much as Chandler. Following Cincy’s approval, and five years together, Chandler decided it was time to make this official. As plans for a trip to Europe with friends came together, he knew it was the perfect opportunity to plan an engagement Ben would never forget. Ben is one of few who truly appreciates being genuinely surprised. In between the views from the Cliffs of Moher in Ireland, seeing Oasis reunite at Wembley Stadium in London, and eating our weight in pasta around Italy, we took a private boat ride through the Amsterdam canals. When the boat passed under the Magere Brug, more commonly known as “The Skinny Bridge”, Chandler got down on one knee and asked Ben to marry him. We sealed the deal with a kiss under the Magere Brug, embracing local legend that couples who kiss there will remain together forever! There are far more chapters than we could ever fit here, but every chapter of our story has led us to this moment, and we can’t wait to celebrate our special day and this next chapter with you and all the people who have loved and supported us along the way.
