We’re Getting Married

Well… Alayna stopped at a local bar for a quick dinner after Christmas shopping with friends when she noticed Chandler from across the room. She casually asked her waitress if he happened to be a regular. “He is,” the waitress said. “And he’s one of the nicest guys ever.” Alayna’s response? “Perfect. Can I get a job application?” A week later, she started working at The Red Mouse in little old Pine Bluff, Wisconsin — a 40-minute drive from where she was living at the time. Totally reasonable behavior, right? For weeks, she was convinced he wasn’t interested. He wouldn’t even make eye contact. So she gave up. Little did she know… One night in early February, he finally worked up the courage to look her straight in the eyes and say, “Can I get a Busch Light in a bottle?” Romance. She grabbed the beer, smiled, and handed it to him. “I have a tab under Chandler. Can you add it to that?” he said — before turning and walking away. Naturally, she panicked. This man definitely has a wife and kids at home, she thought. But fate (and a crowded bar) had other plans. The music was playing, the place was packed, and when someone asked to put COPS on the TV, Chandler saw his opening. This was his moment to finally talk to the pretty bartender he’d been telling all his friends about for weeks — dragging them to the bar with him so he could gather the courage to ask her out. Small talk turned into laughter. Laughter turned into shots. And by the end of the night, he had one more bold question: “Do you like to bowl?” About a week later, they went on a date to a local bowling alley. They didn’t even bowl. And the rest is history. 🤍
