How We Met

Summer 2016

We met before our sophomore year of college, after I transferred to MTSU. He played football. I played volleyball. Easy enough, right? Wrong. A YEAR AND A HALF.... and a few code names later, he asked me out for ice cream. After a week - or three - of playing hard to get, and a spaghetti dinner gone wrong, I agreed to a second date. Then a third, and by the fourth we knew everything there was to know about each other. He didn't know it then, but I was hooked.

Fun Facts

Did you know???

-Before Chandler was born his parents decided that if they had a girl they were going to name her Bailey?! After 3 boys they gave up hope, but here they are, 24 years later, getting their Bailey! -The first time Chandler saw me was after a workout. He was walking with Hunter (friend, roommate, and now groomsman) who joked that he should "go after the brunette." A few years passed and now he gets to marry that "brunette." -Before talking, Chandler and his friends called me Belmont?! Even when I wasn't around. I always wondered why they talked about Belmont so much in the training room... -The first time Chan ever came to my house was to kill a spider. It was hanging across my front door and my roommates weren't home yet. I called him, and, though he was busy, he dropped his plans to come kill it (& that's when I knew he was the one). -Chandler introduced HIMSELF to my parents during one of my volleyball matches. His football coach came and peeked in the gym to make sure he didn't chicken out. ***From that day forward, Coach Stock called me Mrs. Brew. He knew from the beginning. -The first time Chandler told me he loved me I didn't say it back?! He hadn't met my whole family yet, and it was important to me that I got their approval. Chan drove to IL the next week, met everyone, and you can probably figure out the rest. It's been 3 years and I get to love this man for the rest of my life!!!!

The Proposal

He had it planned for over 2 months?!

Chan's youngest brother needed his senior pictures taken and, luckily, one of my dad's many hobbies is photography. His mom planned a weekend for us to drive down, take his brother’s senior pics and a few family pics... since their last family photo was from Chandler’s senior year of HIGH SCHOOL. Little did I know, something way bigger was in the works. We got to the golf course where they had chosen to get the photos taken. It was beautiful. Chan's mom kept on asking me which background I thought would be best for their family picture. I was clueless. Toward the end they asked me to get in one and then if just me and Chandler wanted one, and, of course we did. That's when he grabbed my hands and started his speech. Then to his knee, tears, ring, (more tears), YES!!!!! With both of our families there (minus Matti due to COVID-19) it couldn't have been any more perfect. I am the luckiest person alive to be able to spend forever with Chandler and I can't wait to celebrate with y'all.
