Our Story

Like many couples today, we met on a dating app. Marina saw Chandler's profile on Hinge and was so excited that she sent a rose. Chandler was impressed, because no one had ever sent her a rose before. After about a week of talking online, we knew we wanted to meet in person. Chandler was further impressed that Marina asked her out to dinner and made reservations at an Italian restaurant. Marina was impressed that Chandler wanted to share dessert on the first date. From there, we bonded over our similar interests in reading, crafting, nerdiness, and our goofy senses of humor. Between our second and third date, Chandler visited Disneyland with friends and brought back a Beauty and the Beast enchanted rose pin for Marina, which she still wears everyday on her work lanyard. One weekend a couple months into our relationship, we watched a documentary together about Mothman. For Chandler's birthday a few weeks later, Marina sewed her a Mothman stuffed animal. Chandler opened the gift and knew immediately that she wanted to marry Marina someday. A couple of months later we even visited Portland, Maine to see the International Cryptozoology Museum, and to this day we have several illustrations of Mothman and other cryptids hanging on our walls. Mothman and cryptids might seem like a weird thing to bond over, but we always say that we feel so lucky to have found someone who shares our weird interests and sense of humor. We love that we can be unapologetically goofy with each other, and we love to make each other laugh. We're excited to keep doing so forever!
