It's been another day, so I love you more. Matthews 22:37

You are my today, and all of my tomorrows.

How We Met

Back in 2010 Cody was fresh out of the Marine Corps, and I was a waitress at the local Hooters. He pointed me out to a mutual friend and asked who I was. From there we hit it off! After that we continued our friendship and stayed good friends. Through our friendship we had a ton of great times. He took me shooting for my first time ever and taught me everything I needed to know about a gun and how to shoot it. (My quick learning and good aim totally sparked his growing crush, no matter what he says haha) We stayed in the same friend group for years. But as life happens, many started the next chapter of their lives and our time to hang out lessened. In 2016 Cody bought a house. Now fast forward in our story to 2017, I of course had to go by and check out his new home and swimming pool! Although, I had always found him attractive, it was that day that I really noticed it. As odd as it sounds, I noticed that he had really good feet. As I made my way up from his feet while checking him out, it was then that I noticed his million dollar smile. Let me tell you, it made my heart jump. After a couple weeks went by and I realized that he had won me over with his smile, I won him over with my homemade spaghetti. Fast forward to 2019 here we are! Started from the “friend zone” now we’re here!

The Ultimate Proposal

May 27, 2018

As many of you know, I’m a picture fanatic (especially when it’s a picture of my Dolly girl sleeping in all the cutest positions). I believe every moment should be photographed because after all, when the moment ends all we have left is a picture to remember it by. I had been wanting to have a couples photo shoot done of me and Cody. When I found a photographer whose work I admired dearly, I knew it was meant to be and it was time to finally get them done. I decided to book a photo shoot with this photographer which we agreed would take place on Cody’s moms’ farm in Rockmart, Georgia. As the day of the photo shoot approached the Georgia weather sent us a great big storm followed by days of rain. Seeing as Georgia’s weather is so unpredictable, we decided to go ahead and follow through with the photo shoot (with much encouragement and convincing from Cody). We are so glad we did because in the end we couldn’t have been any happier with how the pictures turned out… and I of course, couldn’t be happier with the outcome from that day!!! Here’s how it happened during the photo shoot…As soon as we started shooting, the rain relentlessly started falling. After hundreds of photos were taken, various poses were struck, and several locations throughout the property were captured, we headed to the very last spot which was my absolute favorite. In this spot, we led Candy, (Cody’s moms gorgeous Paint Quarter Horse) up through the pasture to the barn. As we neared the barn, I noticed our family and friends walking out of the barn. I turned around to look at Cody in complete confusion and he was down on one knee with a little blue box holding a stunning diamond ring. In that moment he asked me to spend the rest of his life with him. With tears flowing and not an ounce of hesitation, I said YES! Like our love, a picture lasts a life time and now we will always have these pictures to remind us of that beautiful day.
