One night while trying to find a place to eat and trying to find a date for her friend Abby, Chandalyn stumbled into a party being thrown as part of the Southern League All-Star festivities in downtown Montgomery. As Chandalyn and Abby sat down and were enjoying a beer with Ken, a volunteer at MANE and an employee at Riverwalk Stadium, a tall man came over to say hello. Chandalyn proceeded to not so gracefully pat the extra space on the bench next to her and told him to sit down. He introduced himself as Scott and informed us he needed to check on some things but might be back. Not much later, Scott came back and sat beside Chandalyn and they talked and talked and talked. They discussed the upcoming All-Star game and their respective jobs. Scott proceeded to get Chandalyn's number so they could exchange information and he invited her to the game the next night. Later that week after texting back and forth, Scott asked Chandalyn out for drinks and they spent their first date night socializing with friends in downtown Montgomery until 3:00 AM. To date, that's still the latest they have stayed out!
Scott had purchased a ring about a week prior and had started making plans to propose. He had a general idea of when and how he wanted to propose, but after attending a black tie fundraiser with Chandalyn on Friday, March 2nd, his plans changed. Scott and Chandalyn spent 3 hours at the fundraiser having drinks, socializing, and having a great time. Since it was right after work and they were in separate cars, it gave Scott time to think on the drive home. Upon arriving home and both still being in their fancy dress attire, Scott hugged Chandalyn and started talking about the future and how much he loved her and their dog family. He slipped the ring out of his pocket and presented it to her. Shaking and smiling, she said yes! Even though it wasn't planned in advance, it still ended up being the perfect moment for both of them.
Chandalyn and Scott always wanted a simple wedding. Keeping it close-knit and close to Chandalyn's home was always something they talked about. They will keep it as close to home as possible by getting married at Chandalyn's parents house in Pine Mountain, Georgia. They will say their vows underneath a large oak tree in the Chrzanowski's front yard, surrounded by friends and family.
