Downtown Fredericksburg (also known as old town Fredericksburg) is a fun area very close by to visit. It includes many mom & pop shops/restaurants and antique stores. There is tons of history in the area to learn about as this area was home to young George Washington and was frequented by past presidents throughout history such as Lincoln.
Washington DC is roughly 50 miles north of our venue (roughly an hour to an hour and a half drive depending on traffic). Go see our nations capitol, visit the (free) Smithsonian museums and dine at some of the best restaurants in the U.S. (Note: DC cannot be seen in a single day. If you plan to see it then make sure you are starting early. It will take nearly all day to see just the monuments.)
For our friends who love the outdoors and hiking. Shenandoah National park is about a 45 minute drive away (depending on the trails and parts you visit). Skyline Drive is very popular during this time of year. Most of the leaves will be transitioning in color and the area is beautiful.
Great Falls park is another national park in Virginia (roughly 45 minutes to an hour drive). This park is more friendly to people wanting to get outside but aren't interested in a multi-mile hike to see pretty views.
