It’s March 1, 2019, perfect weather for rodeoing and zydeco dancing. Chameka and her girls had just finished enjoying the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and decided to sneak over to the “Hideout” to mingle and listen to the sounds of zydeco music. The place was crowded and jumping but Derrick was able to catch Chameka’s attention by smiling, waving, and motioning for her to come over. She smiled back but denied and continued to have fun with her girls. He proceeded to walk over and introduce himself; their conversation was friendly but brief and the only thing they knew about each other was their names when they departed company. Derrick admits he couldn’t forget her smile and the delightful connection they shared. Whereas, Chameka wondered why they didn’t exchange contact information. Days passed after that fun filled Friday night when Chameka noticed a message in her DM from Derrick Rideau. She was amused and not wanting to appear excited, she waited a few days to reply. They decided to meet for cocktails and dinner. That “date” sparked the beginning of a fairy tale romance. They became inseparable and spent the following weeks on dates of dancing, dinner, trips, and sharing family and friends. The laughter, joy and even sadness proved to attract them more and more to each other. It was that special day in 2019 that they will never forget and the reason you are invited to witness a union between two people whose love is built to stand the test of time.
