What hotel can we book at?
Answer
We’ve reserved a block of rooms at The Blake Hotel, a charming boutique hotel with limited rooms available, located at 44 Howe Street, New Haven, CT. We encourage guests to book as soon as possible to make sure everyone who needs accommodations over the wedding weekend can be accommodated. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call The Blake and speak directly with their staff. There will also be a link on this website where you can view and book rooms online. The rooms feature kitchenettes, offering extra flexibility—especially helpful for families with little ones. The hotel also has a parking garage available for guests, plus a rooftop bar and a restaurant in the lobby for you to enjoy. We hope your stay is comfortable and that you enjoy The Blake as much as we do!

How do we book at The Blake Hotel?
Answer
Please note that check-in time is 4:00 PM. You may want to consider arriving the day before the wedding. To book a room, you will need a credit card, but you will not be charged until check-out. To book by phone, call the front desk at (203) 390-5352 and provide the group name: “Chamberlain-Dodd Wedding.” To book online, use the group code: TheDodds26. Be sure to provide the group name or code to receive the discounted group rate.

Can we stay at another hotel?
Answer
There are lots of hotels in the New Haven area, so feel free to explore if you’d like! But for convenience and price, we’ve already done the research for you. After considering many options, we feel The Blake Hotel best suits our needs and is a great home base for the wedding weekend. If you’re looking at other places to stay, we recommend the New Haven Hotel or The Study—both downtown and close to all the action.

Do we need a car?
Answer
You’re welcome to bring or rent a car if you’d like, but New Haven is very walkable and well-served by rideshare options like Uber and Lyft. The only events that aren’t within walking distance are the wedding ceremony and reception, as well as the picnic on Saturday, July 18. For everything else, you won’t need a car unless you prefer having one!

What is parking like?
Answer
We understand that parking in the city can be a bit daunting, so we kept it in mind when planning the wedding. The Blake Hotel offers a private parking garage for guests staying at the hotel, so you can safely leave your car there during your stay. The ceremony at St. Mary Church does not have a dedicated parking lot, but it's located on a quiet street with ample parallel parking nearby. We recommend arriving a few minutes early to find a good spot. The reception will be held at the New Haven Lawn Club, which has two entrances; guests are advised to use the Humphrey Street entrance to access the venue. A large private parking lot will be available for all wedding guests.

How can we RSVP?
Answer
We will be sending RSVP cards in paper format as part of your wedding invitation! Please keep an eye out for the invitations, which will include both the RSVP and meal choice cards, arriving in the next few months. Kindly note that we will not be collecting RSVPs online.
Question
Will transportation to the ceremony and reception be provided?
Answer
We’re currently working out the transportation details, so thank you for your patience! Our plan is to arrange transportation for guests to and from The Blake Hotel on the day of the wedding. We’ll share more information as soon as everything is finalized.
