Know Before You Go

Tips Preparing for Travel

Make sure to have passports and vaccinations on hand Belize is a cash-based country that accepts US Dollars. If you pay in USD, will get Belizean dollars in change. $1 US Dollar = $2 Belizean Dollars You can use a credit card, but there may be a fee. Belize uses 110 volt, 60 cycle electricity, same as the US. Plugs are typically the 2 pronged flat type so US travelers will not typically need a converter or adapter. Outlets rarely have 3 holes so if your device has a third prong, bring an adapter. Renting a car may be the best way to travel to/ from the wedding, as well as getting to/ from excursions. Groups may want to rent one car and carpool to limit costs. Book your accommodations ASAP! They are filling up fast!

When in Belize

To maximize your enjoyment...

Bug spray and sunscreen are a must! Belize is a laid back country that runs on island time. Leave your worries and hurries at home. If you are looking to schedule a tour during your time in Belize, make sure to do research- each tour is different and may cater to different ages/ populations. PRO TIP: It may be cheaper to book a tour in person.
