Have you seen My Big Fat Greek Wedding? That's pretty much it! If you haven't or would like a more detailed breakdown of what to expect, please refer to the blog post below. https://www.lemonandolives.com/overview-of-a-greek-orthodox-wedding/
In a Greek Orthodox wedding, the koumbara (female) and koumbaros (male) serve as the couple's principal sponsors. They actively participate in the ceremony by crowning the bride and groom with the stefana (wedding crowns) and leading the couple in the ceremonial walk around the altar, known as the Dance of Isaiah.
Cocktail attire/Black-Tie Optional Whatever you will feel comfortable and beautiful in!
The church's front entrance does have stairs. However, there is a side entrance into Founders Hall along Terry Court where you can enter and use an elevator to reach the sanctuary if needed.
There is parking directly on the church property. The church owns the gravel parking lot across the street at 134 Terry Court, which is free to use (the "Pay Here" signs can be disregarded. If you do receive a citation from LAZ Parking in the mail, please contact the Church Office to have the fees waived.) There is also limited free street parking.
There are multiple parking garages within walking distance along E. Commerce St. The closest to the venue is the Rivercenter Parking Lot (849 E. Commerce St., San Antonio, TX 78205).
We will miss you! If you are unable to attend, please RSVP accordingly to let us know.
