Andrew moved to Tewksbury his freshman year of high school. I had the biggest crush on him and would purposely walk through the "A-Hall" doors to see him in the morning before health class. We both played on the mens and women's soccer teams at TMHS so I would strategically have people talk about me around him LOL. *Ladies you gotta do what you gotta do*. He asked me to be his girlfriend December 23, 2010 and you all will get to witness FIRST HAND, Nicole Chaet become Nicole Chabak and I cannot wait <3
Although a family vacation may seem like a pretty typical and predictable scenario for a proposal, it certainly was not. A Boston-to-Bermuda cruise had been planned earlier in the year for July 2019. With almost Nicole's entire family attending (nearly 20 people) I knew this would be the perfect opportunity to make the long-awaited proposal happen. It would take place on our last day docked in Bermuda . I had it planned out perfectly: The sun would be shining on a beautiful white sand beach. The ocean would be crashing on the rocks behind us. Nicole's whole family would be there to see and capture every moment of it. Although the planning was perfect, the execution would not be so easy for me. The night before, many of Nicole's family members were talking to me about the events that would unfold the next day. We were all incredibly excited to make it happen. However, the common phrase of the evening was "You must be so nervous... have another one!" Being the gentleman that I am, I would never decline a beverage that is offered to me. To keep it short, they made sure I was no longer nervous. Little did I know how much it would affect me the next day. FULL BLOWN ALCOHOL POISONING. I felt terrible. It needs no description. Much to my dismay, the day leading up to the proposal consisted of a full day of activities such as a foot tour and a long beach day. I could not fathom how I would still pull this off. Much of my day consisted of attempting to sleep under a palm tree buried in towels. With only about a half hour left on the beach, Nicole's sister Lexie came up to me and asked "We're leaving soon... is this still happening?" That was a green light for me. I quickly rose to my feet, walked out into the water waist deep and gave myself a pep talk. It had to happen. We staged on the beach while Lexie executed the distraction plan of "fixing Nicole's hair for a picture." When she spun around, I was on one knee with a smile on my face. I asked, and SHE SAID YES!
