If you’ve heard the phrase “Dearly beloved, we are gathered here…” you already know the beginning of a beautiful, Scripturally rich and reverent marriage ceremony that dates back nearly 475 years to the publishing of the first Book of Common Prayer. There will be music, prayers, a short sermon, and the exchange of vows. There will be Holy Communion offered as well for those who have been baptized as Christians. You are welcome to participate to whatever extent you feel comfortable - please know that even your presence in the sanctuary means a great deal to both of us!
Because the wedding ceremony is a worship service and a deeply spiritual moment, we ask that you refrain from taking photos during the ceremony. Our wedding photographer will be on hand to ensure that we have photos for memories of that time.
We are having a roaming reception! An elegant mixture of tradition and free flowing. Our desire is for you to have the unique opportunity to mingle, explore the venue, and join in on the celebrations. Expect a cocktail hour with drinks and hors d'oeuvres. Food stations with multiple options for dinner. And, of course, dancing to round out the night!
We would love for guests to dress in formal attire. Suits for men and floor length or midi dresses for women. Our venues have an old-world elegance to them and we would love for you to join in a formal evening of celebration... until the dancing begins! But, most importantly, we are looking forward to celebrating with you! Express yourself. Tuxes, pantsuits, fun patterns, tiny hats, bowties; we love them all.
