Chad and I first saw each other eight years ago at my cousin's wedding. He was a groomsman. I remember saying to myself, "Oh, he is cute." He also remembers seeing me in the crowd (and even recalls the white coat I was wearing). Chad tried to talk to me later that night, but the guy who walked up with him wouldn't stop talking so Chad eventually walked off. He later asked my cousin, Will, about me and Will responded with, "No man, she is too young." Chad then "stalked" Shena's wedding photos, found me, and sent me a friend request. I remembered him, so I accepted it. We kept up with each other for a while (more so he kept up with me ;). We would see each other at the lake on holiday weekends and such. He would always "find me at the island" and we would hang out. We went on our first date about a year after we met. Longest, and best, date ever. It started out with us taking the boat out on the river. We went to eat Mexican for dinner where we ran into some of Chad's friends and ended up going out in Dothan. About 2 a.m. I was ready to go home. I kept telling Chad to take me home, but he was still pulling the boat behind the truck and didn't want to be driving around late at night with it. Despite me repeating to take me home, he took the boat back to his house first and then drove me back to my car. I ended up getting home as the sun came up (not a morning person). FOUR years later we went on our second date. My mom likes to joke, "I bet next time he will take you home the first time you ask." We reconnected New Years Eve 2015 and have talked every day since. We started dating in February, and the rest is all she wrote. I thank God every day for blessing me with Chad. The entire time we were friends I was praying for my future husband. I wanted to find someone who would treat me the way my grandpa treats my grandma. I wanted someone to pursue me. Little did I know God had placed that man in my life years ago. He was right there the whole time.
