I met Sydney in our first month of college at Texas Tech University (Wreck 'Em). It was the week before classes began, and (unsurprisingly) I was headed out to go to a party with a few of my buddies. The first party we made it to was already shut down before we got there, and my friend, who was driving, offered a ride to a few girls who were at the party, so we could head to another one. After piling into the car, I looked over and one of the girls we picked up was sitting next to me. I thought she was really cute, but was WAY too nervous to say anything to her right then and there. Luckily, she was outgoing and asked my name, and we got to talking for the rest of the car ride. We began texting and snap chatting, and although I’d like to say the rest was history, I was still too scared to ask her out! Thankfully, Sydney was patient (she admitted later I took way too long). I finally got the courage to take her on a real date to Main Event, playing Mini golf, and we began officially dating in December of that same year, 2020, after realizing I never officially asked her to be my girlfriend. We have many fun stories throughout our college years, from taking the same History class together where she had a better grade than me till the final assignment, to many late nights at the bars with friends, to working together as servers at Cheddar's. 4.5 short years later (Sydney also says I took way too long), I proposed in Pensacola, Florida, and she said yes! (Whew)
