This date is very important to us. It is an accumlitation of Sasha's birthdate on the 9th and Chads birthday on the 18th. Sasha's sister Deana, daughter Jasara and their nephew Brecken were all born on the 9th day as well as Chad's son Corbin and their niece Milly all born on the 18th. As a family we chose to all be baptised together this year on January 18th, which adds to the special significance.
Yes, we will have some light refreshments to enjoy for social hour to mingle as we take photos with friends and family and wrap up. No alcohol is permitted at our church, please do not bring any outside food or beverages in, unless pre-approved by us. We will not be providing dinner or having a traditional reception so please plan accordingly. We hope you will still come celebrate with us at the after party.
The short answer is YES, it is sure to be hot with daily highs of around 100 degrees. Fortunately, evenings and mornings are quite pleasant and the worst of the summer heat is behind. Its a dry heat lol, and most people enjoy September here. Our church is fully airconditioned and the after party will be hosted at an indoor/ourdoor location allowing for versatility in temperature.
Yes, kids are welcome at our ceremony (obviously we request them to be quiet during our ceremony) but our church is very kid friendly and in many ways our day wouldn't be the same without them! No guests under 21 are able to attend our after party unfortunately. If you are coming into town to attend and have children who need a babysitter during this time, there are many great options as we have several older teenagers available. Let us know what you might need and we can help you work it out. Yes, kids can come to our Pool party the following day, however younger kids under 12 will need a parent supervising them at ALL times if they wish to be in the pool.
Please send us a note and we can discuss in more detail and consider your request.
We are looking forward to continuing the celebration on Saturday. Because our Air B&B host is being gracious with us allowing us to have guests come and go who are not staying on the property we must retain the upmost respect including volume which is why we hope that this will be an open house where people can come relax, have a few drinks enjoy the pool but not feel obligated to stay the entire time. We will provide snacks, grilled lunch options, and an assortment of beverages. We do need a firm count on food so please include your preference in the RSVP.
Our ceremony attire is “your Sunday best”, you should dress as if you are going to a wedding but it really doesn't need to be too fancy. We want lovely photos with all our attendees, so please avoid any busy patterns, shorts/tees, flip flops etc. After party is a country bar, if you have a great pair of boots now is the time to slip them on! Denim is always a great choice and don't be afraid to wear a cowboy hat! Dress to be comfortable, cuz we are going to be tearing the dance floor up! There is no dress code for our pool party, come as you are. If you are local please bring your own beach towels if you are swimming so we can reserve our extras for out of towners.
We will have a card box at the ceremony but kindly request no gifts. We are over the moon thankful for your presence and you are welcome to contribute to our cash fund. We will be taking a trip to Spain for two weeks in October to celebrate our honeymoon and any cash funds contributed will be used to enhance that experience.
