One night in September Hannah and Chad met for dinner. They met at one of Hannah's favorite local spots in Hinsdale, Fuller House bar and grill. After 1 appetizer, 2 cocktails, and 3 hours of good conversations about family, friends, and travel. They began to realize that this wasn't just a normal date, this was the start to a beautiful relationship. Their connection on their first date was undeniable. After their first date, Hannah and Chad became inseparable. They began to introduce each other to their friends and family: attending family gathering special events, and holidays. Everyone around us began to realize that this wasn’t just a normal relationship, but something more. Their love for each other is obvious. Who ever said that opposites attract wasn’t lying. Chad and Hannah are opposites who balance each other out in the best way. Chad keeps Hannah level headed and down to earth, while Hannah shines a light on Chad’s personality to be himself. Hannah and Chad enjoy traveling to new places and had many of those opportunities throughout their relationship. Luckily there were many destination weddings to go to from Hot Springs, Arkansas to Honolulu, Hawaii to Livingston, Montana. With each trip their relationship grew stronger, with Chad filling the role as the de facto travel planner researching all the best places to go, and Hannah the expert packer ensuring they always had all the supplies they need 3 weeks in advance. She makes sure that they are always at least 4 hours early to any flight they might be taking. Hannah and Chad truly found their forever from just swiping right.
When Chad was planning the proposal he knew two things about Hannah; she loves to be by a body of water and that she likes picnics. Chad also knew Hannah had very fond memories of growing up on Lake Geneva and Lake Delavan. So he decided to do a proposal during the busiest time of the year at Lake Geneva after some persuasion to take that weekend off. A picnic on Lake Geneva during the summer was the perfect time to ask Hannah the most important question she may have to ever answer. Little did Chad realize that although Hannah liked the lake she did not like the town “Lake Geneva”. Hannah believed that, “Lake Geneva town was for tourists, and the lake was for the locals” (Strike 1). Hannah drove Chad around her family home and the yacht club where she learned how to sail. During this time Chad was coordinating with his brothers to set up the picnic. However, when they arrive in the town Lake Geneva, Hannah quickly became flustered as she attempted to find parking, on the third time going through town they finally found parking. (Strike 2). It also did not help that she seemed to resist Chad’s attempt to buy time, by walking into stores and window shopping. (Strike 3). At this time Chad finally gets the text that everything was set up. Hannah and Chad slowly make their way to the park where the picnic was laid out with her favorite flowers and arrangement of food and drinks. When Chad reached into the basket to pull out the ring Hannah broke out into tears of joy. At that point all the flustered frustration she had left instantly, all she was thinking at that moment was “Oh My God, I get to marry my best friend.” Hannah was surprised to find Chad’s expert photographers, his two brothers and their wives behind the trees capturing the moment that will never be forgotten. After Chad proposed to Hannah a huge relief was showing on his face. We ended the night having a celebratory dinner with Chad’s brothers and Hannah’s soon to be sister-in-laws. Truly this is a memory that Hannah and Chad will never forget. Even though Hannah almost derailed Chad’s proposal he was relieved that Hannah didn’t hold the 3 strikes against Chad. Without these hiccups the unforgettable proposal would have never happened.
