Things To Do
This area is rural, yes-- but there are some fun things to do if you know where to look! Niagara Falls is just and hour and twenty minutes from here! This is also the home of Welch's Grape Juice, established in Westfield (Chad's home town) in 1869. As a result, there are vineyards everywhere you look, and you'll be here just before the harvest when the air smells like sweet grapes!
We also have Lake Erie, Lake Chautauqua, tons of wineries, the picturesque Amish settlements and their famous baked goods, antique stores with unbelievably low prices (compared to the cities), fishing, kayaking, hiking and (of course) New York City is 400 miles and a 6-hour drive from our front door. (We go by Amtrak-- it's easier and not that expensive).
So, we've compiled some suggestions for things to see during your time here. Who knows? Maybe you'll even be inspired to stay in New York a little longer to see what you can see!

"Chautauqua is dedicated to the exploration of the best in human values and the enrichment of life..." The 9-week season for CHQ will be finished by our wedding weekend, but one can still visit the grounds and tour the beautiful old hotel onsite.

This is an easy half-day trip! Still, everyone agrees that the Canadian side of the Falls are much more beautiful, so if you have the time, bring your passports and/or expanded driver's licenses and cross the border and make a day of it!
