Near South Broadway, this state-of-the art museum celebrates everything country music. The museum houses one of the world's largest collections of country music artifacts, including instruments, stage outfits, recordings, and films. A new exhibit showcasing Taylor Swift's Eras Tour is on display through spring 2026.
Nashville is known for hot chicken, and this is our pick of the bunch. Read the history of how the fiery favorite was born out of the revenge of a scorned lover. Also located in the Assembly Food Hall, try the tenders or Andre's Chicken Sandwich. For those who aren't into spicy food, you can order it without heat, but be warned -- anything at the "Hot" level and above might leave you crying.
We celebrated our last anniversary here where we had one of our most memorable special occasion meals. Nashville's only Forbes Travel Guide Star Award restaurant and recipient of Wine Spectator's Best of Award of Excellence, Yolan features an extensive wine list of Italian varietals and producers. We're really not that fancy, but this is definitely a fine dining hot spot if you're so inclined.
Opened in 2018 and just a few years in, D'Andrews has already received national acclaim. It was named a semifinalist for the 2024 James Beard Award for outstanding bakery. Don't let the notoriety fool you, though, because this is still a fun, relaxed treat on a Sunday morning. The breakfast sandwiches are just as delicious as the showstopper pastries. Get there early!
This is one of the most iconic country music stages in Nashville, and it happens to be celebrating its 100-year anniversary this year. Located next to the massive Opry Mills Outlet mall, it's worth taking a stroll on the grounds and visiting the gift shop even if you don't have time to catch a show.
The Nashville Zoo at Grassmere is a zoological garden and historic plantation farmhouse located 6 miles southeast of Downtown Nashville. As of 2014, the zoo was middle Tennessee's top paid attraction and contained 3,736 individual animals, encompassing 352 species.
We love to visit here on weekends or when guests are in town. Partake of the great eats in the food court (get a scoop or two of Jeni's Ice Cream) and visit the fresh produce vendors in the outdoor market. You can also walk through the Gardens of Babylon shop at one end or visit the adjacent Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park.
Next to the Farmers' Market, this beautiful park is a great place for a selfie at the foot of the Tennessee capitol building. Be sure to check out one of the main attractions, the Court of 3 Stars and the 95-Bell Carillon at the far end.
