September 30, 2017 - It was the archdiocese picnic at Moore Park in Bloomington, MN. I sat down beside a handsome young man named Chad, and he impressed me with his genuine attentiveness and bubbly sense of humor. :) October 13, 2017 - After seeing Cassidy at our Church, I mustered up the courage to ask her on a date. But unfortunately, it was a rocky start! We attended an event at the Cathedral of St. Paul and followed it up by some fall steamers at Cafe Latte. It was a beautiful conversation until Cassidy unexpectedly ended the date early. :0 October 14, 2017 - I texted Chad the next morning apologizing for my early exit - I was hosting a guest, and I forgot they had no way to get into my apartment! Luckily, Chad gave me a chance to redeem myself when he asked to take me on a second date. :D October 22, 2017 - After date #1 flopped, I knew I had to pull out all the stops. We watched the sunset on the bluffs by St. Thomas and knowing Cassidy's affinity for cooking, we cooked a delicious meal of tilapia, roasted potatoes, and green beans. The meal, the date, the conversation - it was all a hit. :) October 26, 2017 - I could tell Chad was into my cooking, so for date #3, I planned the perfect fall meal - stuffed acorn squash, homemade applesauce, and a heaping mound of roasted Brussels sprouts. More great conversation had me hooked, but I noticed he didn't eat a lot. Chad is not a picky eater, but little did I know that Brussels sprouts are literally his least favorite food. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ October 26, 2017 (10:00 pm) - I went to Wendy's on the way home and got a burger because I was so hungry. XD March 1, 2019 (6:00 pm)- Fast forward 16 months and I knew I was being called to marry this beautiful, holy woman named Cassidy. More nervous than I have ever been, I proposed to my future wife in front of the altar at the Cathedral. March 1, 2019 (6:01 pm) - With the greatest joy and freedom I have ever known, I said yes. :)
