Chad and I met on Hinge. We were both committed to trying love again hoping we would find the person that would just understand us

Chad and I met on Hinge - a dating app in February 2023. He was at a kickoff for his company trying to get home when he happened to look on Hinge and saw my profile. I remember pulling up his picture and reviewing it closely as his eyes and smile were the first things I saw. For me, there was something different at first glance... and then I saw the poem. "I love you without knowing how, or when or from where. I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride; so I love you because I know no other way than this; where I does not exist, for you, so close that your hand on my chest is my hand, so close that your eyes close as I fall asleep." That poem was the depth and simplicity I was looking for. Our story started that moment. What we recognized in conversations after were that we shared many things... our love for books, the same birthday and a passion for enjoying the simple things. We have grown as a couple so much the past couple of years. We often reflect on our relationship as a story. Two characters who fall in love, experience turmoil, but in the end are devoted to a life together despite obstacles. The Cleveland Museum of Art is a place of wonder and discovery - two words that I think embody what relationships are at their best. We are so excited to celebrate the next chapter of our story with you in a place that is so meaningful to us. UPDATE: It is with heavy hearts that Chad and I have decided to postpone our wedding. Some of you know this, but Becky lost her mom on May 28th. We have been still processing the news and managing some unexpected family challenges so at this time, we are going to wait to celebrate our special day.
