This is a theme song for our wedding, and will be a congregational song at the ceremony. Please view it in advance so you can participate in singing with us!
We first met online in June of 2021. Yes, we are modern enough to have used eharmony to find each other! At the time, Chad's move to Nashville was imminent, so he was open to viewing profiles in the Midwest. Amy noticed that he had viewed hers, and was at a stage where she was only looking at profiles of men who had looked at hers first. When she clicked on Chad's profile to scope out this inquisitive man, she was amazed at what she saw. Her thought was he was a little too good to be true, as his attention to detail in describing his priorities, and his personality in general outshone all of the others she had seen online. Either this guy was a total poser or she must get to know him! So, being the total extrovert, she suggested a video chat much sooner than Chad was accustomed to. Yet he said yes, and their conversations were always ones that were mutually enjoyable. However, there were several bumps in this budding online friendship. The first one was the fact that Chad was moving to Nashville, and meeting in person there some other women that he had met online. He was upfront with Amy about this, to her great consternation. Much fervent prayer ensued on her part, and she enlisted a team of prayer warriors to assist her in winning this man's exclusive attention. Eventually, that's what happened! They met in person for the first time in October. Never one to jump in with abandon until after meeting someone face to face, Chad realized after this encounter that this woman was worthy of going after with everything he had. Within weeks Chad asked Amy for the privilege of dating her exclusively. She was not shy in saying yes! She was more hesitant a month later, when he asked her to consider flying to New Hampshire after Christmas to meet his family. Wasn't this moving a bit too quickly? Persuaded by a friend that this was too good of an opportunity to pass up, she acquiesced to the plan, and they spent a splendid three days together in New England, visiting family and taking in the sights at the Newport Mansions in Newport, RI. They had lots of fun together, laughter, deep conversations, and walks in the chilly New England air. What more could a girl ask to win her heart? At this stage, things began to get very serious. Chad knew he was interested in making this relationship a permanent thing. However, he also knew that his new job in Nashville meant he should stay there until at least summer 2023, and Amy was clearly well settled with plenty of friends and family in the St. Louis area. How to solve this dilemma? Should he move slowly in this relationship, and give up his dream job to move to St. Louis after two years in Nashville? He was pondering this as a possible option when Amy suggested otherwise, that if marriage was in their future she could move to Nashville and they could marry sooner. Pleasantly stunned, it did not take Chad much convincing to agree. So the stage was set for a proposal. The two made plans to spend Chad's Spring Break on a road trip to Florida, where they would conveniently stay with three different families that were close friends of Amy's. Chad saw his opportunity, and set the plan in motion for a proposal at sunset on the beach in Tampa, on the evening before Amy's birthday. She said yes! At the end of that vacation, after returning to Nashville, Amy and Chad attended his local church, and the service that day featured an original song, "Look What the Lord Has Done." The words focused on the great forgiveness of the Lord and the wonderful work He is doing to transform lives. It seemed especially appropriate to both of them for how it honored the goodness of the Lord, and they decided it should be a part of their wedding ceremony. They desire to make their marriage one where the Lord's work is revered and a priority. There is a video of this song posted in videos. Please watch it and prepare to sing it with us at the wedding ceremony.
