The Stanley Hotel is famous for its old world charm. Offering four different Estes Park accommodation experiences including historic rooms, modern apartment-style residences for extended stays, and expansive condominiums on the legendary grounds overlooking Rocky Mountain National Park. The Stanley Hotel is best known for being the inspiration for Stephen King’s bestselling novel The Shining and the subsequent film starring Jack Nicholson as the slowly driven mad overseer. Visitors to Estes Park flock to the hotel to take a tour, have a drink at the Whiskey Lounge, and stay overnight in one of its historical (and perhaps haunted) rooms. We’ll share a bit of The Stanley Hotel’s history and our experience touring, eating, and sleeping at this famous hotel. Our ceremony will take place at the Stanley Hotel, though we don't expect guests to stay there. It might be a cool experience for a night, but rooms at the Stanley can be a little pricey during the summer months.

Estes Lake Lodge resides on 6.5 acres of Estes Park history. On our property, you will find the Joel Estes Landmark, where the first settler to Estes Park constructed his cabin in 1859. Following old trails from the Ute and Arapahoe tribes who once used the area in the summer for hunting, Joel Estes discovered this beautiful valley nestled in the mountains. He built his cabin on our land, overlooking Lake Estes. Hike to the landmark and enjoy beautiful views of the Town of Estes Park, Lake Estes, and the Continental Divide! In the 1870s, the Fourth Earl of Dunraven, Windham Thomas Wyndham-Quinn, claimed what is now Estes Lake Lodge and much of the surrounding land for his private big game hunting reserve in the Wild West. Since then, the property was developed into The Viking Lodge and The Landmark Hotel in the 1950s. Today, it is Estes Lake Lodge, a proud landmark of Estes Park history. We look forward to being your base camp for the Rocky Mountain National Park for the years to come!
