We want you to be comfortable and feel your best. The dress code is traditional Indian (encouraged but not mandatory!) or cocktail attire. You know Chaarvi and Abi - think colorful, quirky, and joyous!
Your invitation will have the names of all invited guests listed on the envelope. We wish we could invite more people, but we're limited by the venue's capacity. Thank you for understanding!
We understand plans may change. But please indicate whether you plan to attend by August 31st 2023, so we can plan accordingly.
Please plan to arrive by 4:30 PM so we can start the ceremony promptly at 5:00 PM.
Deity is located in Boerum Hill - the very neighbourhood that we met in. The building, constructed in 1917, is a former synagogue, then converted to an antique store, and then a night club! It was bought and renovated by Brooklyn husband and wife team Caio and Kristine who wanted to offer a unique event space in their neighborhood. The unique Brooklyn venue has been deemed an official NYC landmark! It comes with a lot of character and symbolism for us, and we are thrilled to have found Deity for our wedding.
The black sand comes from volcanic eruptions. In Hawaii, Pele (the goddess of fire and volcanoes) is considered supreme and Abi believes that we got the blessings of Pele by proposing on the black sand beach created by her. Also, fun fact - Pololu beach was the setting of the 1997 film The Lost World: Jurassic Park.
