It was a cold Monday evening, and we (UTSA FB Team) were told to go to a mandatory base meeting. Upon arrival, as soon as I walked in, the first thing my eyes saw/captured was this beautiful, gorgeous, and absolutely stunning woman on the podium preparing to give a speech( Baby girl was THE Vice President of the BASE Program.. AKA Black Athletes Striving for Excellence), and I remember looking in awe and having to look away because I didn't want to get caught staring too long. Her aura was so strong that I sat in the back with some of my teammates until we were told to move up to the front lol. I remembered telling my teammate, "You see her right there?" Yeah, dawg, that's the one... that right there is a Black woman." Fast forward to Valentine's Day, 2 days later: that same homeboy called my phone that night and told me that he saw her and her sister asking her what she was doing for Valentine's Day, and at that time (thank you, God) she wasn't seeing anyone, and so she told him, "Oh, nothing, just going to study and watch TV." The minute he told me that, I knew what type of time it was, and so I told him, "Bet, say no more; I will handle the rest." So, I DM'd her that night and politely introduced myself and asked if she would like to meet at the library the next day and get to know each other more, and after I sent that message, I immediately turned my phone off and went to bed. Lol, your boy was nervous. The next morning she responded, saying yes, and I was hyped. We then met later that day at the library and spent the next 4-5 hours chopping it up and laughing, acting like we were doing work when we weren't at all lol. I remembered taking her home that night and when I dropped her off and made sure she got in safe. I was genuinely cheesing in the car and said out loud, "Yeah, man, she's the one," and I thanked God, and the rest was history. God is Great, God is Good and I look forward to forever with You Baby.
