We met outside of Gasser Lounge in Redondo beach. To set the scene- Brie had just ended things with a short term fling and went out with her two coworkers to lift her spirits. When we got to the bar, I was told by the bouncer that I wouldn’t be allowed in without a second form of I.D. since my license had just expired on my birthday the month prior. I initially was going to just give up and go home but the bouncer was insanely cute so I ran to my house and grabbed my birth certificate and a chocolate bacon bar that I had gotten from Trader Joe’s. When I got there I gave the bouncer my birth certificate as well as the chocolate. He immediately started talking to me and trying to make any excuse to be closer to me and the girls. The bouncer was no other than Jose Cespedes. After many moments of flirtation and teasing we exchanged numbers. And the rest is history!
Everyone knows Jose and I had a very troubling end to our relationship in June of 2019. When Jose and I first began dating I never thought we would have ended our time together in such a difficult way. It was brutal. He eventually moved back to Miami to be with family and I stayed here. It was so important for us to live lives separately and figure out who we were on our own before we reconnected. Jose sought out rehab and I decided to invite him to stay with zeppelin while my mom and I went on a trip to Belgium. The trust had to be reestablished and he was definitely on that road. When I saw him the day before we left, we had dinner together with the family. And I could see it. This was the Jose I was supposed to end up with. Centered and focused, and handsome as ever. Like I said, the time apart both healed us in such huge ways. Both of us needed to become independent and centered before becoming together. And like they say “gods timing is always right” and here we are! Thriving and being the best partners and parents we can be.
