It’s Finally Happening!

We met when we were 15 in Spanish class at J.I Case High School. We quickly became good friends and even went to a Winter Formal together Junior year. We lost touch after graduation but about a year later we reconnected and the rest is history!

We planned a date night in downtown Chicago to celebrate our 3 year anniversary in December 2018. Our plans included ice skating in Maggie Daley Park and dinner after. After ice skating, we decided to stop and take a picture in front of the Christmas tree in Millennium Park. There was a long line since it is a popular spot to take a picture but Cesar insisted. I was getting impatient because I was hangry at this point and worried we would be late for our reservation. (I hate being late to anything). While we were waiting a friendly Hispanic family walked in line behind us. Cesar started talking to them in Spanish, which I am not able to understand yet. Little did I know that Cesar was asking this family to take pictures/video of what was about to happen. When it was finally our turn to take a picture we gave both of our phones to the family behind us to take "pictures" of us in front of the tree. Then Cesar turned and said "Are we centered with the tree?" I then said "Yes I think so. It is fine. There's a lot of people waiting". I then looked back and he was getting on one knee. I was so surprised and felt bad for being hangry. It was truly perfect timing because it was just days before Christmas when we would see all of our close family and friends and get to share the amazing news! Chicago will always be a special place for us!
