It all started on July 4, 2017 with a little help from Brian and Marty Mathews (cousins of the groom). They get all of the credit for setting the relationship up. On this day, the pair started talking, not exactly knowing where this was going. The day after, on July 5th, they met for the first time in person. Chris suggested they meet at Huntington Beach. He also insisted that Cerissa bring her English bulldog, Bella, as well. She was excited that he wanted her to come and couldn’t say no! They spent the day sitting on the beach talking and getting to know each other. To help seal the deal, Chris ended the day by buying Cerissa and Bella ice cream at Honey Hut. Bella gobbled it down and she definitely approved of their newfound relationship. The couple has been inseparable since this day and their love for each other has grown immensely. Their connection is a true testament to the saying that the best love comes at the most unexpected times.
Chris decided we take a weekend trip to visit his brother Dave and wife Nicole in Virginia. We planned on hanging out and going to an assortment of wineries and breweries in the area. Little did I know that Chris had something extra planned for this trip and Dave and Nicole were also in on it. On March 27th, 2021, we started our eventful day at Harper’s Ferry Brewing. This is a large local brewery overlooking many beautiful landscapes. Upon arrival, Chris was anxious and excited. He kept insisting to the group to start taking pictures with the scenic backdrop before the brewery started filling up with people. Dave and Nicole started taking many pictures of us. After a little while, Chris stopped and turned to me and got down on one knee to ask for my hand in marriage. I took a step back in shock. “OMG, YES!” I exclaimed. I literally never saw it coming! We spent the rest of the day celebrating at different wineries and restaurants. Thank you Dave and Nicole for help setting up and being a part of this special day, a day that I will always cherish.
