I'm Melissa, your event host and coordinator. It brings me immense joy to arrange such a vibrant event for these wonderful kids. Just to share a bit about myself, I was brought up by my grandparents after losing my mother to gun violence. It was a tough journey, but it made me who I am today. Despite not having kids of my own and enduring the loss of my loving husband as a consequence of his PTSD from the Marine Corps, my spirit has never been dampened. In fact, it's my passion to give back to the community where I was raised. It's a passion that my grandparents instilled in me - the drive to lead with responsibility and kindness. Since 2010, I've been planning and hosting events. Nothing brings me more satisfaction than creating enchanting experiences for these amazing kids. To witness their growth and to watch them blossom since their freshman year has been an unparalleled pleasure. Truly, it's a blessing to be in this moment.
