Chandler and Celine were unexpectedly introduced by a mutual friend online in January of 2014 during their junior year of high school. Through chatting most days they quickly grew fond of each other and became good friends. They talked online for 5 months before officially admitting to each other their obvious interest in being more than friends. They decided to finally meet in person at the Lebanese Festival held by Celine's church, where she had volunteered to do face-painting. They spent the entire weekend outside sitting and talking at the face-painting table, nervously enjoying each other's company for the first time, finally matching a voice and laugh to a person they already knew. Neither had ever dated anyone before, but by the time the last night of the festival came to a close they knew they had something special and wanted to be together. That day marked the beginning of their relationship. Throughout the next year, they were together every chance they had, from park days to movie nights with friends. Chandler even stood for hours at a time inside Deb's Lemonade just to talk to Celine while she worked. Time flew by and before they knew it, graduation day came and they spent their last summer together in Virginia before Chandler moved to North Carolina for school. The next 5 years of long-distance dating were filled with weekend trips between NC and VA, lake days, mountain drives, mini-golf, Brambleton Deli, “can’t wait to see you"s, and “text me when you get home”s. They grew together throughout the years and fell more in love every day. Then on October 24th, 2020, on a trip to Myrtle Beach, Chandler took Celine down to the ocean to watch the sunrise, one of Celine’s favorite things to do. There he got down on one knee as the sun came up and asked her to marry him. Now, nearly 8 years since that first day at the face-painting table, they are getting married and couldn’t be any happier or more excited to celebrate with their friends and family.
