Mother of the Groom
Do not let the small stature of this woman fool you, she hits harder than Iron Mike when you step out of line. Tusi is the heart of the Mayer family, her love flows endlessly. Tusi, is the hardest working and most dedicated mother you'll meet. At one point, Tusi had 3 jobs to put her two boys through school, not including the full-time job of mom. The groom will never forget being a young boy, walking Tusi to the car with her bags to see her off to work, only to beg her not to leave us home alone with dad's cooking. But the biggest memory the groom has of his mother is no matter how tired, no matter how many jobs she had just worked, she was at every game, every event, his mom was always there. And now he can't wait to share this special day with his now retired mom.
Mother of the Bride
When Darnell gave birth to Celina she said "Are you sure that's my baby?" Looking like a 5 pound sumo wrestler, who could blame her for asking! As many of you know, Darnell is a sorceress and can instantly tell you how she feels about a person's character. Knowing this can be intimidating, but Celina had no doubts that she would love Jack instantly and of course she did (I mean who doesn't). People who know Darnell know that she is one of the strongest women around and if she loves you, she'll kill for you...seriously. Growing up she became everyones mom and til this day Celina's childhood friends are welcomed by her with open arms.
Father of the Bride
Celina was very fortunate to have her hard working Daddy Marks growing up. From the day she was born, they were already so much alike. From the round cheeks to striving to be the best athlete and scholar they could be, you could say the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Celina has always been a daddy's girl, in fact when the time came, he took her to buy her first training bra and lady products. You may think thats too much information, but that is something a little girl will remember and cherish forever. He will be walking her down the aisle and "giving her away" but Celina will always be his first baby girl.
Father of the Groom
Fun fact, this man is the original John Mayer and yes he does play the guitar and sing too. Iona is the father of the groom. Growing up the groom heard endless stories from Iona, melting houses, owls chasing you through the woods, treasure maps being delivered to the wrong John, glowing green rocks, magic sticks, ghost dogs, spoiled spaghetti, "Just keep on going." Through the endless creative stories told, the core message was always the same. Family first, take care of your loved ones, be of selfless service to all, and always protect your mom and little brother. To the people who do not know Iona, they see a tall palagi, to the groom he sees one of greatest chiefs Samoa has ever had. O le ala le pule le tautua, ia faafetai tele lava Fepuleai Lasei
Sister of the Bride
Mommy/Aunty Christy is Celina's younger sister. Yes her biological sister, we all know they don't look related. Since they were babies, these sisters have been inseparable. Stealing each other's clothes, slightly bullying one another, making fun of their outfits and haircuts, it was a normal sisterhood. Now Aunty Christy has upgraded to be Mommy Christy and Celina and Jack were chosen to be baby Jett's fairy godparents. Jack is Christy's newest brother and have been irritating each other since the day they met, just how it should be.
Brother of the Groom
The younger, smaller, and not as good looking brother of the groom. Johnny Mayer has been the biggest influence on the growth and development of the groom. The adventures that these two have been on are honestly endless. From getting shot in the butt with a BB gun, to burning eyes with candle wax, to pulling a neck muscle while putting on boxers. By far the most meaningful ongoing memory the groom has of Johnny, has been watching his little brother grow up into a man whom he looks up to. Thank you for always pushing me to be better Johnny.
Sister in Law of the Bride and Groom
Savanna Mayer is the sister to the groom. Growing up the groom always wished for a sister when he instead got a brother (Johnny Mayer). However on June 23rd, 2019 the grooms wish finally became true when Savanna became a sister to the family! The groom is lucky and blessed to have such a loving and wonderful addition to the family and is excited to make many amazing memories with his sister in Spain!
Ring Bearer
Celina's first nephew, first baby, and best bud! Him and his aunty Cece love to bake and go to Target together. He's a pre-teen already is almost as tall as his Aunty, but he will always be her first baby boy. Fun Fact : Everyone calls Jack, "Jack Jack" from the Incredibles because that was Xander's name for him.
Ring Bearer
Our newest ray of sunshine might need a little help walking down the aisle from his cousin Xander as he will almost be one years old!
Work Dad of the Bride
Roberto has taken care of Celina during her time living in Vegas as she drove him crazy as a hostess and server at his restaurants. He hired her as a hostess at Bazaar Meat in 2016 and in the near future asked her to be a server and help open his very own restaurant. If it wasn't for him taking a leap of faith with her, Celina wouldn't have had the opportunity to work at some of the best restaurants in Las Vegas. Roberto has been a huge part of Celina's life growing as a woman and keeping her head on straight. He now has TWO award winning restaurants in Vegas and are a must have when you're visiting.
Best Friend of the Bride
Celina and Jayme have known each other since they were 9 years old are best friends. They've both basically lived at each others childhood homes and instantly became family. Throughout the years they were Summer Fun junior leaders (and made sure they were together or would throw a fit), got in trouble for skipping soccer practice to hang out with boys, and shared the best and worst times of our lives. They have always kept each other in check and have been the best support system when all they had was each other. Jayme has been the positive energy and biggest cheerleader in Celina's life. A few years ago we had the honor of watching Jayme become a mother of a beautiful baby girl and Celina was chosen as her fairy god momma. Fun Fact: Jayme twisting the truth is the reason that Jack and Celina are together today.
Best Friend of the Bride
Kapi'i and Celina have been besties since the fourth grade...well they hated each other first but then got forced to be partners on a field trip and realized they weren't so bad. They have grown up together, been through many embarrassing adventures, and unfortunately for their husbands they bring the crazy out of each other. Yes they are a handful but that's why you love them! Sometimes it feels like they are still at St. Anthony's having bathroom emergencies, getting sick in church, or making teachers cry. Some things just don't change i guess. Kapi'i has the most exhilarating and loving energy that you can't help but love her. We all do.
Best Cousin of the Bride
Jessie is Celina's first cousin and first best friend being only 6 months apart. They went to UNLV together, were dorm roommates, and experienced being an adult for he first time together. They have so many memories ordering Dominoes, Sunday Sundaes, almost getting into fights on Halloween, going to the ER on Valentine's day, and let's not forget the ninja turtle water bottle.
Bestie of the Bride
Alena Gawjess and Celina met during highschool and the rest was history. Soon enough Celina would pick her up for school everyday, go to house parties they weren't supposed to be at, and graduate together. They both attended UNLV and were SO well behaved they never had to do community service for drinking on campus.. Anyway, they have been through a lot together and continue to make memories that make them cringe to think about.
Bestie of the Bride
Chayden and Celina have known each other since the 3rd grade at St. John Vianney and reconnected in 9th grade at Kailua High where they later found out they were actually somehow related. These two were Homecoming Prince and Princess as freshman and went to Senior prom together as best friends. They both went to UNLV and years later were finally roomies! They spent almost every holiday together as a family and have had so many fond memories of getting into trouble in math class, dancing our lives away, and growing up together.
Bestie of the Bride
Fun Fact: Celina asked Dylan to move in with her the first day they met. It sounds crazy but here's the back story: It was Dylan's first day at Bazaar Meat and Celina was training him. As they got talking they both realized that Dylan needed a place to live and Celina was in need of a new roommate. By the end of the shift Celina said, "I know this is weird but I have an empty room and you can totally live with me." Dylan's like "Honestly?? Im down." And the rest was history! They became roomies and the best of friends. Dylan was the little brother Celina never had and as Darnell would call him "her chocolate son." Celina could always count on Dylan to be there for her, whether it was taking her to the hospital or picking her up form a car accident, he was there. She's blessed to call him family.
