In the summer of 2019 we were both 19 and I was back in STL for the summer working at Chick fil A. Jonny worked mornings in the kitchen and I worked evenings up front, so we only saw each other in passing for a while. Towards the end of the summer he started training up front in the evenings, which meant more time around me (Lucky him!). We didn't talk much (or at all) because I had an awkward crush on him and didn't know what to do. This may be best summed up in a story Jonny likes to tell (which I don't particularly remember...) of being trained next to me when the trainer stepped back, looked at us, and said 'wow, you two would make a power couple' to which I said 'ew no' and walked away. Sorry JP... The summer was over before we knew it and I had to go back to school in Kansas City. On my last day working I asked for his snapchat, but didn't dare snapchat him first. This is where wingman Patrick Fuchs comes into play. Being the brother of my best friend and a good friend of Jonny's, he was the perfect middle man to make this happen, and that he did. He convinced Jonny to message me on August 14, 2019 and there hasn't been a day since that we haven't talked.
On our 3 year anniversary Jonny took me to the Jewel Box in Forest Park. He knows how much I love plants and it was the perfect, most beautiful place for a date. We walked around for a while admiring it's beauty while he chugged a massive bottle of water to quench his dry mouth. Once out front he took my hands, made his speech and got down on a knee to propose. Easiest 'yes' ever :) He even had one of our best friends Lauren hiding in bushes taking photos and videos of the whole thing. We then had a celebratory dinner at The Capital Grille to end the night.
