Flight
IAD, DCA, OR CHO
The DC area has three main airports; IAD or DCA are your best bets for flying in and driving out to Shenandoah. BWI is the other airport if you are checking prices. Skyland is a little under 2 hours from IAD and around 2.25 hours from DCA. This is excluding traffic, and it can be quite bad at peak commuting times so plan accordingly. CHO: Probably fewer/more expensive, but the closest airport is Charlottesville. Good option if you are not planning to do any other DC area activities. This city is very tourist friendly! College town with lots of great food, drinks, and activities.

Are there other lodging options?
Shenandoah National Park does NOT have any other lodging options within the park other than Skyland and Big Meadows Lodge. If you choose to stay in another spot, you will need to account for the time it will take to drive to the park and you will still need to pay the national park entry fee. There are a number of airbnbs scattered around the area that are within a reasonable drive to Skyland!
Rental Car

There are plenty of rental car companies at any of the airports or cities nearby. Just be sure to remember to ask about the toll fees/EZ-pass options as you book. If you know other people attending, try to carpool! Each car will need to purchase a pass to enter the national park and you can save on that cost by carpooling.

National Park Entry Fee
Please note there is an entrance fee of $30 per car to get into the park. This will allow entrance and exit for 7 days. Alternatively, you may wish to purchase a National Parks pass ($80), which is an annual pass that grants entrance to any national parks (and other locations, check their website). We recommend purchasing the entrance pass online prior to arrival.
